I Love It When This Happens!

Last week I took some fresh-baked dreamsicle cookies to my voice coach. This week when I walked into the studio, the first thing he said was, "Jasmine! I loved those cookies you made! You really should market them! You have a winner!"

My favorite part of baking (other than eating the goodies) is making people happy. Those cookies made my grandma happy, they made my uncle happy (I traded him for some minor car repairs), and they made my voice coach happy. They make me and my mom happy too! If you have never tried a dreamsicle cookie, you don't know what you're missing!

My Three Easter Treats

Sorry no time to blog! I am working two part-time jobs! One serving drinks at a cafeteria-style restaurant, and one in fast food, mixing up the ice cream drinks and shakes and such. I love it!

Here's what I made for Easter:

1) Easter dipped peanut brittle, orange flavored, and sprinkled with fun. :-)

2) Dreamsicle cookies - my grandma loved these and went home with the recipe!

3) Popcorn cake for Easter/Mom's birthday

Just so you know ...

Hi! It's me, Jasmine. I'm still here! lol  I was going to make candy and cake balls for Valentine's Day, but then the restaurant started calling me in a LOT so I haven't had time to make anything. So I'm glad I didn't tell you that I was going to!

But, if you ever want anything, just let me know. I will do my best for you.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

Christmas is one week away!

Free delivery if you're local! Pick up stocking stuffers here! I've got pins and pretty poinsettia soaps for the ladies, I've got some magnets and some cute ornaments, and I can make more kid soaps (I sold out of those at the holiday fair). My chocolate lollipops are 50 cents each, and I can make green, red, orange, chocolate brown, and white mint. You can order Christmas peanut brittle with holiday sprinkles or dipped in chocolate and sprinkled or not. I can make more cake bites too. They are like cake balls except they are square like presents for your mouth!

Two Weeks Till Christmas!

It's two weeks till Christmas! YAY! I've been working hard to get ready for the Christmas Homeschool Holiday Fair at Springwell on Wade Hampton. It's this Tuesday, all day long! I've got a big selection of stocking stuffers: handmade pins, magnets, and ornaments, and soaps, and I will have peanut brittle and cake bites too. Probably some chocolate lollipops too if I get to them. It's going to be great!

Did you know that it takes three days to make a pin, magnet, or ornament? It's true! These one-of-a-kind items take three days. Here's how it happens:

Day 1: The paper is the most important part. Newspaper is too weak and gray for this craft. I use sturdy paper plates and sometimes typing paper. I make the paper pulp and then press it into molds. (I have lots!) Let dry. Usually takes 24 hours.

Day 2: Paint items. When dry, apply sealant.

Day 3: Glue pinbacks or magnets onto finished products. The ones that are ornaments get holes and hooks added.

The finished product is sturdy and will last many years as long as it is not run through a washing machine. LOL My mom has some pins she made in the 90s!

Here are some of my newest ones:

Pins can be worn on tops and sweaters, scarves, and hats. Pins them to their Christmas stockings! They are $3 each, or two for $5!

See ya Tuesday? I'll be there!

DING DING DING! Thanksgiving is HERE!

My countdown meter says today is Thanksgiving Day. It doesn't feel like it to me. I have to go to work today! I work in a restaurant that gets a LOT of business on Thanksgiving. :-p  I was supposed to go visit Grandma in Illinois, but then I got this job, and that was the end of a family Thanksgiving for me. I would love a job where I didn't have to work on holidays!!!

Maybe someday Jasmine's Blue Ribbon Treats and more will be a big enough business that I can just do that. Happy Smiles!  Yesterday I sold a blue angel pin and a red poinsettia magnet. They are handmade, one-of-a-kind things for just $3 each. It takes me three days to make them. Maybe I will share the details with you sometime.

Have a happy Thanksgiving holiday. And if you are going to shop for Small Business Saturday, think of me! I've got pins, magnets, soaps, and candies! Lots of stocking stuffers and sweets!
